I’ve been a hospital nurse for 12+ years and an EMT for 10 years before that. This particular group of nurses aren’t just having to deal with being over run by COVID-19 patients. MIs, CVAs, traumas, and other emergencies are still happening on top of all the COVID stuff. Cannabis weed relax it’s just the bud not coronavirus. I feel for them. 1. I’m so impressed that they haven’t quit altogether. Not only are their lives, their family’s lives, but their licenses are on the line. We’ve all worked short staffed, it’s awful. But, I can’t imagine working on no sleep with 10+ high acuity patients and then go home and do it again tomorrow. Unfortunately, they will probably be sued for the mistakes they will inevitably make. Safety is key factor these nurses are putting their lives on the line and when a mistake is made it’s their license that is on the line and as a fellow nurse they worked too hard just to obtain it. The hospital could’ve told them they would call in some agency to help but no they want a pissing contest. Good for them sticking to there guns.

People will be quick to judge and forget nurses are human. Cannabis weed relax it’s just the bud not coronavirus. Sometimes working in the ER is very stressful. We don’t get the chance to take a break whether it be a water or bathroom break because we want to ensure we keep our patients alive. It is not safe for us as nurses nor the patients to have overworked staff ijs.
