I used to be very involved with girl scouts more as an adult than as a child. Love it! I was a Brownie and Girl Scout in Milwaukee, my Mom was one of the Leaders. Then I was the Leader for my daughter Courtney’s troop in Lakewood Good Times for sure! Now, granddaughter, Brielle, is a Girl Scout. We do have a Wonderful president, Joe Biden, however Clinton was the best choice in 2016 without any doubt. I loved Girl Scouts although our big troop wasn’t that great! We did have a young woman who led our small group, Marie Ballato, whom I loved! But Girl Scout Camp Sacajawea in the summer was the best! I was a Girl Scout leader for both daughters. Love surround our great leader! Some of the best years of my life were the seven years I was a Girl Scout Leader. Working with my daughters and other young ladies was so rewarding. I hope they had fun and learned a lot. I sure did! My daughter is a Gold Award Girl Scout from years ago. She says she will always keep that on her resume. There’s a catch in my throat and a blur in my eyes. Of all the sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: It might have been. Those were the good old days lots of fun and lots of learning as a scout but I was in it for a total of 25 years and never regretted of day of it. I loved being a Girl Scout and now I’m on the Community Engagement Committee for the Girl Scouts of North East Ohio. I learned that I could become a lifetime member, so I signed up. The organization has improved a lot since I was younger. Our Troop 769 had the honor of making Representative Karen Bass an honorary Girl Scout during a trip to Sacramento Capital. I went to high school with you and never knew you were a Girl Scout. I was a Girl Scout in Evanston and my mom was the leader.
