Consistency is everything. If you wear a mask to go in to a restaurant, bar, store etc and take it off while talking, eating, laughing etc, it doesn’t matter if you wore it on your way in. Why this is so difficult for folks to understand. Curious if there’s been an analysis of mask use on our local cases. I realize self reporting is very limited, but would be interesting. So glad to see this articulated for the people who weren’t comprehending it. Probably cuz they don’t put their masks back on and mingle and drink at the bar and stuff. I’m in the industry and people just don’t put their masks back on until they leave. The number of current active cases is 2.6 million and is no more that we had on June 27th nearly 4 months ago.. I’m just curious. Are these same people also going to grocery stores and gas stations. Singling out the restaurant industry is incredibly narrow minded as well as oblivious to the fact that those people are also frequenting other places. I work road construction been living out of motels and eating two to three times a day at restaurants along with 150 other employees I work with across the state and UP and we had had zero cases. Been doing this since covid started also.. Nice try at spinning your own study which shows that masks are substantially ineffective. And as for people who are visibly sick, they shouldn’t be allowed into indoor spaces at all. Masks may somewhat impede droplet spraying but will do nothing. How many who test positive for the flu went to a restaurant within the 2wks. They probably went to a gas station too and probably a grocery store is it really a relevant statistic? My daughter and i do the door dash or order to go we refuse to dine in anywhere until a well tested and proven vaccine is available not one of the quick fixes trump is talking about. For those saying that they go out to eat all the time and haven’t gotten Covid and they don’t wear a mask and haven’t gotten it. Selfish, uncaring a-holes!. If people report always wearing masks then they couldn’t have eaten in a restaurant or their response is incorrect. I work at a restaurant. Know one there has had the virus! Also customers are not wearing mask! I dont know who to believe anymore! I haven’t been in a restaurant since March and don’t plan on going until there’s a safe vaccine. We have yet to eat inside at any restaurant. Have eaten outside at a restaurant once! We’re sticking to take out until this is truly under control. I dont eat out and i wear a mask even out doors in crowded areas. Why are restaurants employees not wearing mask? I been in restaurants where servers wear mask but not kitchen staff. Been in restaurants and no ones wearing a mask. I’m in the recovery of Covid. I wear my mask when l’m out but I went to a pizza restaurant.
