I am not. I’m actually rejoicing that we will never accept that, or anything like it, again. Once upon a time there was a girl who really loved plants and cats poster. I am responding to all the crying I see in these comments because we had the audacity, decades ago, to write our own song of empowerment and freedom.

We have one national anthem, if you don’t like it, to bad. Tough breaks happen to all sorts of people. If you want to keep dividing this country then keep doing things based solely on skin color. I don’t want this country to be divided. It just is…by people who refuse to accept the truth about their part in inequality and injustice to people of color…like the person who wrote the National Anthem. I’d rather sing an ode to my country written by someone who didn’t support slavery and wish death on the slave, as the composer of the current National anthem did. You understand that blacks sold blacks into slavery, blacks owned slaves. You realize that every race of people have been slaves on this planet. Once upon a time there was a girl who really loved plants and cats poster. You realize you are free to do anything you want in this country. Either you leave history where it belongs or you will always have hate in your heart. You want to blame people for slavery that never had anything to do with it. while some Africans were greedy, and were coerced to sell rival tribe members to the white man, most were forced to “sell” others or be killed. You are correct that there has always been slavery. However, that has never made slavery right or ok.
