I am personally witness to veterans who go to the emergency, never seen by a doctor, and told to leave, while suffering heart and lung issues, nerve issues that interfere with the functions of both as well as other things such as pain, that causes unconsciousness and mental instability, then told to go home, without any treatment whatsoever. Community care has helped tremendously but, until the bigger VA’s are broken down to smaller units within each facility, their will continue to be the systemic failures throughout the VA network, to include inappropriate staffing, doctors and nurses, etc. There is a lot to do but, hopefully, with another four years under President Trump, the VA will be well on its way to a much better place. Perhaps if you didn’t cut veteran’s benefits they would be better off.
